After several years and millions of miles of testing, we are excited to finally have the new and improved Salsa Cutthroat on the floor. Designed for the Tour Divide but truly capable of being more than just an adventure bike. Here are some of the new features that make the 2020 Cutthroat better than the old version.
The new Cutthroat offers a smaller XS and a larger XL in order to cater to a greater range of rider heights.
Moving to boost spacing the new Cutthroat is able to use stiffer wheels whilst maintaining the same chainstay length and even improving tire clearance to allow for up to 29 x 2.4.
The redesigned frame increases drivetrain compatibility by offering larger chainring capacity and 2x options.
Traditionally the Cutthroat has offered a large frame space for a frame bag, however the new model offers space for 3 water bottles on the 54cm and larger frames, plus direct-mount frame pack option eliminating frame rub.
A newly designed fork is both more compliant and also features tire rub protectors. So your frame remains like new even on the muddiest of days.
Keep your bike looking sleek with fully sleeved internal cable routing. Making cleaning a whole lot easier and on the road repairs a breeze.
Taking the original 29er drop bar geometry Salsa have honed and sharpened this bike to make it one of a kind. A unique bike in an industry full of gravel bikes, why should you be interested in the Cutthroat? Just because the Tour Divide isn't on your radar doesn't mean the Cutthroat isn't for you. If you are looking for a comfortable, lightweight bike with an upright position and the ability to tackle unpredictable road surfaces then the Cutthroat might just be the bike for you.
