One part fat bike, one part 29er, and two parts awesome, Surly's Krampus rolls fast, holds speed, and devours corners. Surly built the frame and fork with chromoly and gave the frame a long top tube and short chainstays, so it's playful, smooth, versatile, and durable. The 29 x 3-inch Knard tires on 50mm Surly Rabbit Hole rims are what make this bike truly special. These big tires offer increased traction, incredible float, and reduce the need for suspension because the large volume is plenty to smooth the trail. You'll also get a Shimano Zee single-ring crankset, a Shimano rear derailleur for crisp shifts, and Avid BB7 brakes to give this guy some trail manners.

I love the off-roading experience, and this bike delivers it. I lowered the pressure in the tires, and I was easily climbing over large rocks, logs, tree roots, mud puddles, and loose dirt. The mud spray from the huge tires made me look awesome, too. It is rather slow on pavement, but that's not what it's meant for. Can't wait to find more trouble to get into with this eager puppy.
Purchased in fall 2013 after reading many positive reviews. I have not been disappointed! It would be my only mountain bike if it was a bit lighter in weight. Amazing traction, control. You can ride over anything.
