Giant TCX Advanced SL

If the slightly chillier weather hasn’t planted the ‘cross bug in you today then maybe this will.  I was recently at an undisclosed location and had the opportunity to check out the new 2011 Giant TCX Advanced SL carbon cross bike from Giant.  I’ve been excited about this bike for a while, but my dreams were confirmed when I got to hold one in my clamy hands yesterday.

Yes, it’s carbon. Yes, Giant carbon frames are some of the very best in the world.  Integrated BB – check.  Tapered headtube with full carbon tapered fork  – check.  Internal cable routing for mud free performance -yup.   Integrated seatmast (ISP) & zero water bottle bolts to confirm that this is a true RACE bike – absolutely!

That’s all great, but it wasn’t until I dangled the frame on the scale that I was truly convinced that this is the best cross bike going.

Yes, you read it right at 2.1 lbs

The uncut fork weighed in at 500 grams, which although not the lightest out there, is very competitive.

My order is in.  My fingers are crossed.   This will be the seasons most hard to get / sought after cross frame.
