Last Day to Comment on Mt Biking in National Parks!

Today, February 17th is the last day to submit comments to the Interior Department in regards to Mt Biking in National Parks. You can find an extrememly easy form to fill out and submit on IMBA’s website:
http://www.imba.com/news/action_alerts/12_08/12_18_nps.html

Here are the additional comments I added to their form letter:

“As a Bicycle store owner employing 15 people I can tell you that Mountain Biking in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks will have tremendous benefits to locals and visitors alike. People of all ages travel to our region in search of activities on their National lands. When I tell them there is no off road cycling in the National Parks they are appalled. Cycling has very low impact on trails and wildlife and should be considered in all National Parks. I do not feel that Mountain Biking is appropriate on all National Park trails. But I do feel that each individual superintendent should be able to decide which of their trails could be considered Mountain Bike friendly. We should be encouraging people to get out of their cars and into their National Parks. Cycling can help achieve this goal.”
