Race Across Oregon challenges riders to a 533 mile race in one shot. Jill’s husband Andy sends this report from the starting line:
The day before the race:
I made is safe and sound after a 12.5 hour drive from Jackson. It was nice to stop and spend the night at our friends house in Boise. Erik and I left Boise at 6a with hot coffee and good music. We arrived in Portland at 11:30a, picked up the rental car, and found Jill at the hotel. Unpacked the car into the kick butt mini van we rented which ended up being a chore. Erik and I decided after unpacking and repacking that we would just re-organize once we get on the road.
The van is outfit with:
Computer
external hard drive
Two MP3 players
30 gigs of music
GPS
cameras
Maps
Flashing roof mounted lights
Cell phones
1 extrabike
2 extra wheelsets
1 cot
sleeping bag
cow bells for motivation
Two hot guys!! : - )
Cooler
Food
Clothes
Bike Stand
Pump
Bike Tool Box
Stove
Propane
Folding Chair
We would like to also thank our Sponsors:

Well I think we covered it all for now. I just want to thank everyone who helped us in any way one more time. I plan to find wireless along the route to e-mail updates and send a couple pictures here and there. Time for bed. Need to be at the start line at 0430a.
